Tinuë

A game of roads and stacks.

The word Tinuë and the line “build a road,” beside a 5×5 board. A dark road runs from the near edge to the far edge, traced in green.

Tinuë is a two-player strategy game about building roads and controlling stacks. Connect any two opposite sides of the board before your opponent does. There is no luck and no hidden information—every move is there to see.

Build your road

Place flat stones to extend your road, stand them on edge as walls, or bring in your capstone to build, block, and flatten walls.

Placing on an empty square of a 5×5 board. The sheet offers Flat, which builds a road; Wall, which blocks a road; and Cap, already in play.

Lift and move stacks in a straight line, dropping stones as you go. The stone on top controls the stack, so every move can change the shape of the board.

A stack leaving a3. Drops of 2, 2, and 1 are set on the next three squares, with those stones still in hand, waiting to be confirmed.

If neither player completes a road, the game is decided by the number of flat stones showing when the board fills or a player runs out of pieces.
